Job Summary

Performs a combination of tasks related to timely and accurate customer shipments. Involves verification of incoming and outgoing shipments and proper record keeping in accordance with companies MRP and quality system. Represents Company as Class A driver meeting all the California Driver Guidelines. Delivery and pick up from Customer, vendor and supplier locations for timely, accurate deliveries and pick-up of products and material.

 

  • Follow written guidelines within established procedures and process.
  • Recommend changes in processes to improve efficiencies and capabilities.
  • Assist in implementing practices that will effectively utilize resources.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must follow all policies and procedures.
  • Communication skills required consists of the ability to read and interpret documents such as: (a) safety rules, (b) policies and procedure instructions, (c) operation and maintenance instructions, (d) customer orders (e) Shipping and work order documents, (f) company policies.
  • Perform and promote work in accordance with company safety standards. – Responsible for understanding and applying quality system requirements to work processes.
  • Carryout / execute activities to meet customer satisfaction ( on-time delivery, accurate status, et. Al.)
  • Know and execute Quality procedures.
  • Carryout / execute activities as assigned by your Team Leader. This may include, although not limited to: (a) training, (b) planning, (c) production requirements, (d) daily work assignments, (e) resolving problems, (f) communication, (g) assist in prioritizing and scheduling.
  • Willingness to support company training and cross functional efforts. – Perform manual and routine clerical duties in receiving, packing, shipping and warehousing.
  • Fill customer orders accurately by pulling parts to meet customer sales order requests.
  • Part-marking of components, including engraving, ink stamp and computerized.
  • Assembles and verifies shipments for correctness of items and quantities. – May pre-bag, tag and inventory certain parts when required (Min/Max). – Determines correct shipping weight, labels for correct destination and handling specifications.
  • Prepares and packages materials/goods for shipment according to requirements.
  • Receives incoming OSP materials, checks for accuracy against vendor invoices, customer orders and bills of lading and stages the material appropriately.
  • Hand counts and/or operates weighing scale to ensure proper quantities of parts/materials are pulled.
  • Processes stock transfers in a timely manner.
  • Verifies all material coming into and going out of the stockroom is properly part/quantity marked. – Maintains necessary part/lot number integrity as required in accordance with company QMS.
  • Stocks all incoming materials into correct locations in a careful, timely and orderly manner.
  • Interacts with other departments to resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Be a representative of the Company in a professional manner, meeting Customer satisfaction and Company objectives.
  • Act as Delivery Driver by making deliveries via company vehicle, prioritizing delivery schedule to ensure accurate, timely and efficient delivery schedule. Adhere to all State and Local laws and rules of the road in the performance of driving Company vehicle.
  • Ensure Company vehicle is in safe and operational condition prior to leaving Company site including: sufficient gas, all lights and wipers are operable and proper maintenance has been conducted.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Education and/or experience consist of a high school diploma.
  • 5-5 years experience in the industry. Familiar with Material Handling/Shipping Receiving role or equivalent combination of both.
  • Communication skills required consists of the ability to read and interpret documents such as: (a) safety rules, (b) procedure instructions, (c) operation and maintenance instructions, (d) order placement and tracking, (e) work order documents. -Proficient in English (reading and writing)
  • Must have proven, regular and reliable attendance history.
  • Valid Class A Drivers License and proof of insurability.
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle, sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to understand and adhere to all State and Local laws, regulations and rules of the road in the performance of driving Company vehicle.
  • Familiar with various materials preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and ISO / AS9100 principles preferred.
  • Functional knowledge of a simple ERP / MRP system would be an advantage.
  • Responsible for understanding and applying quality system requirements to work processes.
  • Carryout / execute activities to meet customer satisfaction ( on-time delivery, accurate status, et. Al.)
  • Carryout / execute activities as assigned by Team Lead/Manager. This may include, although not limited to: (a) training, (b) planning, (c) production requirements, (d) daily work assignments, (e) resolving problems, (f) communication, (g) assist in prioritizing and scheduling.
  • Follow and promote shop safety rules and practices.
  • Willingness to support company training and cross functional efforts
  • Must work overtime and/or odd shifts as determined by Manager and/or Team Lead.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must to become certified in Crane and Forklift operations.
  • Must have 2-5 years of forklift experience.
  • Must follow all policies and procedures.
  • Aerospace manufacturing floor experience is a must.

Exposure of manufacturing environment, requiring use of personal protective equipment such as: safety glasses, hearing protection, safety helmet, slip resistant shoe’s or slip resistant steel toe boots, wear and gloves. Ability to drive Company vehicle, sit for extended lengths of time in vehicle, ability to hear, see and react to driving standards. Adhere to Company safety rules and State driving laws required.
